The short answer

What is professional waxing?

Waxing removes visible hair from the root by applying a professional wax selected for the body area, hair texture and skin condition. It can leave skin feeling smoother for longer than shaving, but it does not permanently stop hair growth. Technique, temperature, section size, skin support and aftercare all matter.

Why clients choose it

  • Smoother skin without daily shaving
  • Defined brows and cleaner facial contours
  • Customized bikini or Brazilian grooming
  • More complete coverage for legs, arms, torso or back
  • A coordinated full-body maintenance plan

Individual areas or a customized full-body appointment

Select one area, combine several, or let our esthetician plan a complete appointment around your priorities. Exact availability, timing and pricing are confirmed before treatment.

Precision

Face

Brow shaping, upper lip, chin, cheeks or sideburn area and full-face combinations. The esthetician assesses active products, recent exfoliation and sensitivity before touching delicate facial skin.

Facial waxing may be paired with tweezing and careful finishing when appropriate.
Essential

Underarms

Removes underarm hair from the root for a smooth finish without razor stubble. Hair density, skin sensitivity, deodorant use and recent irritation guide preparation and aftercare.

Wear loose clothing and arrive with clean, dry skin when possible.
Upper body

Arms, Hands & Fingers

Choose half arms, full arms or smaller hand and finger areas. Borders are confirmed before treatment so the finish looks deliberate and balanced.

Useful as an individual service or part of a full-body plan.
Lower body

Legs, Feet & Toes

Lower legs, upper legs, full legs and smaller foot or toe areas may be treated separately or together. Larger areas require more appointment time.

Skin should be free from sunburn, broken areas and active irritation.
Personalized

Bikini & Brazilian

Options may include bikini line, extended bikini or Brazilian waxing. Privacy, boundaries and the amount of hair to remain are discussed before treatment.

External hair-bearing skin only; availability and candidacy are confirmed when booking.
Torso

Chest & Abdomen

Chest, stomach or combined torso waxing can create a cleaner, more even finish. The treatment plan accounts for hair direction, density and sensitive areas.

Sections may be customized rather than treated as a one-size-fits-all service.
Back

Back & Shoulders

Upper back, lower back, shoulders or full-back coverage can be selected. Careful sectioning and skin support help make a larger-area service more controlled.

Ask about a coordinated torso plan when several connected areas are priorities.
Body

Buttocks

External buttock areas may be treated with boundaries agreed upon before the service. Skin condition and recent friction, workouts or irritation are reviewed first.

Discreet draping and clear consent are part of every intimate-area appointment.
Comprehensive

Full-Body Waxing

A customized combination of facial and body areas designed around your goals. Depending on the number of areas, skin response and comfort, treatment may be completed in one extended appointment or thoughtfully staged.

Full-body waxing is individually quoted; it is not a fixed list that ignores your preferences.
Your appointment is defined before it begins. We confirm every requested area, privacy preference, border and price so there are no surprises.
Candidacy

Who may—or may not—be a candidate

Who may be considered

Adults seeking temporary hair removal on healthy, intact skin may be candidates. Hair must be long enough for wax to grip, and the area should be free of active sunburn, infection and significant inflammation.

When waxing may be postponed

Waxing should not be performed over broken, blistered, sunburned or actively infected skin. Recent aggressive peels, laser resurfacing, uncontrolled dermatitis, impaired healing or significant irritation may also require postponement. Tell us about diabetes, bleeding risk, skin disorders, allergies and every prescription or topical product used on the area.

Isotretinoin: U.S. labeling instructs patients to avoid wax epilation during treatment and for at least six months afterward because of scarring risk.

At a glance

Planning ranges

These are practical planning points, not guarantees. The area, hair density, sensitivity and number of services determine the exact visit.

Treatment time
Small facial areas may be brief; multiple or full-body areas require a longer appointment
Comfort / anesthesia
Brief pulling or stinging; anesthesia is not routinely required
Typical downtime
Usually minimal, with temporary redness, tenderness or follicular bumps possible
When changes appear
Hair removal is visible immediately after the service
How long smoothness may last
Varies by body area and individual growth cycle; regrowth is expected
Maintenance
Repeat visits are timed to regrowth and skin readiness, not a rigid universal schedule

What happens during professional waxing

Assess & define

Your esthetician reviews medications, recent treatments, sun exposure and skin condition, then confirms the exact areas, borders, privacy preferences and price.

Prepare & remove

Skin is cleansed and prepared. Wax type, temperature and section size are selected for the area; skin is supported as hair is removed in controlled sections.

Calm & protect

Residual wax is removed, the skin is calmed with compatible finishing products and you receive area-specific instructions for friction, heat, exfoliation and rebooking.

Before & after

A little preparation protects the finish

Let hair grow

Hair needs enough visible length for wax to grip. Avoid shaving or tweezing immediately beforehand; ask us about ideal timing for your area and growth pattern.

Arrive clean and dry

When possible, skip heavy lotions, oils and deodorant on the treatment area. Wear clean, loose clothing for larger or intimate-area appointments.

Disclose products and procedures

Tell us about isotretinoin, topical retinoids, exfoliating acids, steroids, blood thinners, recent peels, laser treatments and any new rash or irritation. Do not stop prescribed medication unless the prescribing clinician directs you.

Protect freshly waxed skin

Follow your esthetician’s area-specific instructions. You may be advised to avoid friction, vigorous exercise, hot tubs, pools, heat, fragrance and exfoliation for a short period and to use sun protection on exposed skin.

Informed choice

Risks, limitations and when to call

Possible effects

Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling, follicular bumps, bruising, ingrown hairs, irritation, skin lifting, burns, pigment change, allergic reaction and infection are possible. Results are temporary and hair does not always regrow at the same rate.

Contact us promptly for blistering, severe or worsening pain, spreading redness, drainage, fever or a reaction that does not begin to settle as expected.

About numbing products

Do not self-apply high-strength numbing creams before waxing unless a qualified clinician specifically directs you. The FDA has warned companies marketing certain unapproved topical anesthetic products for cosmetic procedures, including waxing, because excessive absorption can cause serious harm—especially when used over large, irritated or broken areas.

Your esthetician can explain comfort strategies that do not add avoidable medication risk.

Why experience matters

Skin deserves more than a fast strip

Professional waxing is a sequence of judgment calls: whether skin is safe to treat, which wax is appropriate, how warm it should be, how large each section should be and how firmly the skin must be supported. An experienced esthetician also recognizes when medication, irritation or a recent procedure makes postponement the smarter choice.

Identity Aesthetics approach

  • Clear confirmation of each area and border
  • Medication, skin and recent-procedure screening
  • Wax and technique selected for the treatment area
  • Discreet draping and consent for intimate services
  • Practical aftercare and maintenance planning
Access & pricing

In-office treatment, simple online booking

Waxing is performed in office because your esthetician must assess the skin and provide the hands-on service. Telehealth cannot replace the appointment, although online booking is available from home.

Pricing: Cost depends on the area, number of areas and appointment length. Full-body plans are customized and quoted before treatment. Always ask about current promotions, maintenance packages and coordinated-area savings.

Common questions

Waxing FAQ

What areas can be waxed?
Common options include brows and facial areas, underarms, arms, legs, bikini line or Brazilian, chest, abdomen, back, shoulders, buttocks, hands, feet and customized combinations. Exact availability is confirmed when booking.
How long should hair be before waxing?
Hair needs enough visible length for wax to grip. Avoid shaving or tweezing immediately before the appointment and ask your esthetician for timing guidance based on the area and your growth cycle.
How long do results last?
Because waxing removes hair from the root, smoothness generally lasts longer than shaving. The interval varies by body area, individual growth cycle and whether all hairs were in the same growth stage.
Can I wax while taking isotretinoin?
No. U.S. isotretinoin labeling says to avoid wax epilation during treatment and for at least six months afterward because of scarring risk. Disclose all oral and topical medications before booking.
Can I wax if I use retinol or exfoliating acids?
Possibly, but not without review. Topical retinoids, strong acids and recent resurfacing can make skin more vulnerable. Tell us the exact product, strength, area and timing; do not stop a prescription unless its prescriber directs you.
Can full-body waxing be done in one appointment?
Sometimes. The safest and most comfortable plan depends on the areas selected, skin condition and appointment length. A customized plan may use one extended visit or staged appointments.
Is waxing available by telehealth?
No. Waxing is an in-office service. You may, however, book online and contact the team in advance with questions about preparation.
